Pass this idea along to him, I think it's a good idea.  Make the 4 speed max wedge car as planed, but make it handicap accessible.  I'm handicapped (and no, not in the head) and I think it would awesome to have a 4 speed that the clutch was operated by hand or buttons.  It's totally doable, and would really get peoples attention, especially those that normal could not drive a stick shift car, people like my mother who lost her left leg to diabetes when she was just 16.  It's just an idea, but I think it's worth doing.  There is no reason to scrap a plan just because of that.  :)
