Re: Radiator Question

Jim,

I have been researching radiator brands as to quality and meeting my cooling needs and letting the price be what satisfies my goals; presently, Griffin is my first choice. Reasons; claimed to be all American made with larger diameter cooling tubes as compared to many of the other companies that use imported cores with slightly smaller diameter tubes as a platform build. The larger tubes and design of Griffin radiators are purported to cool more efficiently. I have more research to do but that is where the preliminary research has led me. Prices are about the same (high) for Griffin and Be Cool.

That's a really good idea, Gary. I'll give them a ring.

Thank you,

Jim

Hello Jim, welcome back.

Prices of radiators = expensive wherever. For example, the Griffin Thermal Products 5-560HF-FXX is $545.99 at Summit plus an additional shipping charge of $55.00. Sounds like $600 before tax to me.

GRI-5-560HF-FXX is for a standard transmission 1964 Ply B. My interchange reference shows 1964 B as different than 1965, but can you ask them to build that 1964 radiator to their 1965 Belvedere standards? Their catalog lists a 1965 Belvedere to 850 HP.

Thanks,
Gary H.
