Re: paint job

Good point. And not all Maacos are acceptable. A guy I know just had a 74 Plymouth sprayed by a Maaco near him. The car looks pretty good, though, so far, they lost all the scripts they took off before painting. But I guess any body shop could have that issue. And I once had a car all sanded and ready for paint and a Maaco quoted me a price that turned out to be the same as a body shop at a dealer where I knew one of the mucky-mucks, and the dealer used PPG paint.

I assume Maacos get a pretty good bulk price break on buying their paint.

But, as noted by several, the key to a good paint job is three things: prep, prep and prep. :)

Thanks,
Gary H.

Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person. That is, send parts/car transactions and negotiations as well as other personal messages only to the intended recipient, not to the Clubhouse public address. This practice will protect your privacy, reduce the total volume of mail and fine tune the content signal to Mopar topic. Thanks!
