62 imperial

Okay friends. I have a buddy who's working on a 62 imperial for a friend. The tranny push buttons don't come back out once you push another button. For instance, it's in neutral, and you push drive, and neutral button doesn't pop out like its supposed to. Anyways, does anyone have a push button assembly or know how to fix this? We have absolutely no experience on how to fix this! I'll relay any info you give! I appreciate it! :-)
