Dodger, u mentioned a aftermarket radio hanging out the dash. I don't have one hanging out anywhere. That's the original radio in the dash. Underneath dash is the allergo mark iv air conditioner that was dealer installed. The dash isn't that bad it just bothers me. It's on the list of things I wanna fix and I'm starting with interior. Besides that I gotta refurb my steering wheel.

really, REALLY, don't wanna break anything
As you are finding out most parts for these 40+ year old cars are not
easily found, if found at all, I hope that you are keeping that in mind as
you come up with your projects, that being said, I personally think that your
dash pad looks good, especially compared to that aftermarket radio hanging out
of the dash now, I do not have any of the no body cars that I can
check on, but am assuming that it is like the chrome strips on the B body car
door panels where there is a metal tab coming from the back of the chrome strip
that goes through a hole and is bent over,,,,, if that is the case you can use a
small screwdriver to straighten the tab some, and then using a nylon tool on the
face of the dash to pry the chrome strip out, it should straighten the tab the
rest of the way, and the nylon tool will not scratch the dash or mar the chrome
strip,,,,,,
