I was in Tn. at a friends and  had to do some work on on my truck that required an impact which no one had.

I needed a 3/8 drive for the shop so I went to Lowes and looked at their Cobalt units.

I decided to buy there 3/8 unit and I am very pleased with it, has plenty of torque to do every job I have asked of it so far plus it's not as big and bulky as a 1/2 inch drive.

I have 3 air ratchets you can have if you want them (1/4,3/8,1/2 inch drive) as I started using a Znex battery operated ratchet a few years ago and have not touched the air ratchets since.

They are Harbor Freight cause that's what I use to use, always kept an xtra one of each on the shelf because when one acted up I would just throw it away and grab another one. Now I have no use for them.

The general run of comments made me feel better about having older
Craftsman tools as a base for what i have.  I also don't feel bad
about having some Harbor Freight tools however I am carful about what
I buy.

Jimmy made a very good comment, a bad tool can hurt a person and
damage their car, he is exactly right and that always needs to be a
concern.

I am going to look at air tools at Home Depot, Lowes and Harbor
Freight.  I really would like a 3/8 drive and 1/2 drive impact wrench
and a 3/8 air ratchet.  In the near future I need to get a better air
compressor also.

As to sources garage sales, estate sales, pawn shops, Craigs List are
all good suggestions.  Great idea looking for older quality tools.

As to where stuff is made which is really the basis for my question
(please don't take off on a non Mopar rant on this, just stating the
way it is)  OUR country has allowed places like China to become our
suppliers.  I heard a good program on drugs and drug shortages, almost
no drugs are currently manufactured in the United States, not even
Aspirin.  The problem goes far beyond tools.
