Re: Ac working??

I started it today and was listening to that bearing noise. After listening hard I could tell if it's the compressor or the tensioner. (right next to each other). I broke out the stethoscope an listened and it the compressor. So I took belt off. Ima wait and go down that path maybe at the en of the winter before next summer. I'll get new compressor and convert and get it all right. I don't like doing things half assed cause I always half to go back and fix it or break something. I hate to blow money on a worn out compressor. Just my thoughts. So project r12 goes on hold!

OOps, sorry about my last post, I had not gotten this far in reading.  As an update to his article, between then and now the producers of 134 have gotten real proud of it and the price for it has gone up a lot and the price for R12 has come down.  That's why I was saying today it might be cheaper to top off a working R12 system, that to convert it!
