RE: Oil pressure

If anything 20-50 is a little thicker but it has a higher rating equal to straight 50w. If your engine is tired it may boost your compression a bit

It's just an occasional vehicle to drive when I'm tired of driving my new truck. I hate to put 20-50 in it cause man that's some thick stuff! I ran it in the elco but I guess it was fine cause I never had problems. It never...EVER get below 20 down here. So y'all think I should run the 20-50? Will it hurt it after 40 years of 10-30? I was always very nervous and cautious about what I put in my motors, I want them to last! I can't just rebuild a motor lol not near the stuff or the time I used to...or money haha ever since I bought a house :/

The whole oil issue revolves around wether your car is and occasional vehicle, daily driver local, daily driver long distance,  or daily racer,,,, your present situation should be good on all but severe driving habits,,,,,

Well What are yalls opinions on a thicker oil than 10-30? Being that it's only cold really 2 mnths out the year. I hate to change viscosities if it's gonna hurt it down the road

to dark for me to make out anything,,,,,,,,but as your describing it, it sounds low,,,,, not a dangerous low, and not unusual for a 40+ year old engine, it will more than likely run for ever and not be harmed as long as it has some pressure and only driven on the street, I would worry if it were constantly being driven at 4500+ RPM

So after getting my motor good and hot, after driving, at idle my oil pressure gauge shows at the second line from left. I'm including a pic...let me know if it's too small ima make it small for people without cable. I just wanna know if that's not good. It comes up a Bit while driving or giving gas. It doesn't have pressures on it so idk what pressure that line is. I figured someone would know what that is...and if that's good or not. Thanks in advance!
