He was a character. When you met the guy he
acted like he knew you his whole life and he loved to talk. Once you got
him started, he would talk until it was time to get the truck out for another
show. I'm glad to see he is stll around. The pics are from the 40th
Hemi Anniversary and that is one of 3 or 4 or 5 trucks he had. He was
quite a legend from about 1960 or so on, for years. You met Mav, so you
were friends for life. When you asked if he wanted help he didn' turn you
down. Mav was really something and I'm glad we both got to meet him.
The truck and the guy behind the truck are two different things.

I helped work on this truck (or one of them) years ago at the
Mopars @ Englishtown. He was making exhibition runs and blew the trans on the
first run. A buddy of mine knew him and we happened to walk into the pits as
they brought it back. His pit crew had bailed on him that day, so he was by
himself. Aaron asked him if he need a hand, and net thing I knew, My buddy's
and I are in the bed of the LRW unbolting the 727 from this HUGE HEMI, and
helping him hoist it out and swap it.
VERY cool!!!
