Picked up then dashed to the ground

A little off topic, but the other day I see a pair of 60 Plymouth
Belvederes, sitting in front of a house on a route to school I don't
normally take. As i got closer my pulse quickened to see they were
both 2 doors. My sisters had one as their high school car ( circa
1973), my dad bought it for them ,for , I believe 350 bucks and it was
in cherry condition. They called it "The Fish", and it was a big hit
at school, and cruising " the gut" as we called Willamette street
then. I still remember the monstrous front seat and dash and sitting
in it at the drive-in with my sisters. I had always entertained the
idea of getting one and building it my way ( Dodge truck v-10 with
turbo??), or maybe just a stout 440 stroker. Anyhoo, they werent too
bad, one was obviously the parts car and the other was the base
builder and I don't think the guy wanted too much, but it was just a
little too much work. Dang. God is that an ugly car.
Why dont they have drive-ins anymore?< I Ioved them.
