OK Bill, this is what I have and you can use it for comparison Bill Watson called that top of dash color Derby Red flat # 71300. And for what its worth, the number I found was #71390.I have a old Dupont color chip chart, and so went with the local Dupont-Nason dealer He had to take my info and call into DuPont. He came up with a formula to mix, but it gets a little confusing. On one lable from the dealer it says Car : Spectramaster Code:RS561 Color: Spectramaster Red and then gives the paint formula. Now , the can itself has a paint formula that is a differnt formula. In thinking about it, the paint I recieved is a flat finish but is smooth to the touch. It is dead on to the color chip. Since the word Spectra master is used, my bet is the chip was scanned for color, but if it has a texture ( the color chip chart shows no texture) It probably wouldn't show in the scan. The formulas I have are to lengthy to post here, but I could e-mail that info to you.I don't know if the texture( if any) is an additive to the paint or merely the way it is applied- kinda like dry or orange-peel. There is a company that claims exact formulas in their paint, but it is VERY expensive. I have a Dupont color chip chart and got the old paint number for the suede The problem then was crossing that to new formulation numbers. I have painted mine, It looks really nice but I have no way of telling if it is in fsct the correct new factory color. It is a flat finish , but somewhat smooth. I thought the original finish had some texture that you could actually feel.
