Hay all, Yesterday was a little warmer day , so I checked out all the
contents in my new( to me) Fury. and got it off the trailer. I went thru
the bow that containes the Sport side trim , and Hallyjulia! I found some
of the trim I thought was missing. Thanks to Dave 64, I won an e-bay item,
the SPORT FURY letters that go on the side rear of the quarter panel. Only
one side available so I still need the other side. Also needed is the trim
that goes down the ridge on top of the trunk lid( vertical) and I think
there is a sport fury script that goes on the back right side of the trunk
lid. With the car was a correct for year 383 engine in pieces an extra 727
tranny and another 727 in pieces. Also a 741 case differntial complete with
2:73 ? ring and pinion. And several valve covers and extra stuff.
This car has been used as a budget drag for the brackets, Seats removed and
a later Mopar bucket seat installed. I did get the stock buckets, console,
shifter and rear seat with it. It now has a screwed up B/M ratchet sfifter
with a later 60's 727 tranny. Seller says it is stock and does not have a
higher stall converter. Rear gear is a later 486-9?? with welded spyder
gears -ratio unknown at this time. Engine is a later 383 with alum high
riser- didn't look at the brand- 750 Holly -open headers and unknown lumpy
race cam.- orange box ignition and race coil. Heads and engine internals
unknown at this time. I had heard the engine run a few months ago, but
didn't bother with it when I loaded it on the trailer. seller said it was
hard to start and he was right!
I got it over by my shop and decided to get it running. After much
fiddling with it, I did get it started , had to pour gas in the carb and
messed with the igmition switch, ballast resister, and coil I finally got it
started and it really does sound good after getting the engine warmed up it
has a good throttle responce doesn't seem to be lacking in gas or spark, but
there is still a problem I will make another post about that.
I think maybe God wanted me to have this car :-)
