I tend to agree with the starter going. How about battery wires to the starter? No signs of green in the wire? Old wires are not good.

Classic symptoms of a starter giving up the ghost. Remember a starter out of a mid 90's Dakota will bolt right in, is smaller and easy to find in the junk yards. Paul L. My car starts right up but after awhile driving and then stopping, when I get in to start it I get this real slow sluggish turning over of the engine. I hate it. I have a 63 Ply. with a max wedge engine and stock exhaust. Any ideas? I'm going to try and put a better ground to the engine on after I mail this.. Thanks....
