Hummmm. Thats a weird one. If your battery is in good shape, there may be a drain on your battery somewhere and/or the alternator cannot fully maintain your charge soyou can re-start that high compression monster. This may be the case if you keep that battery on a trickle charger and it does the jobon initial start up. Check the battery with a voltmeter, cold and with the engine running. If its not showing 12.5-14 volts with the motorhot and running then the alternator may be your problem. If its just a weak battery that can't hold a charge, consider an "Optima" battery (Think that's the name), unless you want anauthentic Mopar battery. I have one in a Willys street rod which I can never mention here (Chevy Motor!) and it is reallypowerful and reliable...as long as I keep that trickle charger going.Good Luck, Donny, 64 Belvedere. > To: 1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxx > From: moweepea@xxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: bad starter? > Date: Sat, 11 Dec 2010 09:45:44 -0800 > > > > Hi all and happy holidays. I seem to have a starter problem. My car starts right up but after awhile driving and then stopping, when I get in to start it I get this real slow sluggish turning over of the engine. I hate it. I have a 63 Ply. with a max wedge engine and stock exhaust. Any ideas? I'm going to try and put a better ground to the engine on after I mail this..
