Find & install a 65 to 67 B body rear (drum to drum, bolt in) and it will give 
you even more room!!!!!

Same here - '64 Belvedere.  It was close with the tapered axle rearend.  A '68 
rear is in it now - that gave me another 3/4" or so on each side.
