RE: Pulling a Heater Box



Hi Bill,

Tag each vacuum hose at the two actuators (attached on the drivers side 
of the heater box) and disconnect them from the actuators and not the 
switch in the dash.

When you remove the flexible air duct at the cowl and expose the fan, 
you may notice that the fan is attached to the heater box with the 
wiring.  You can undo the fan but it will hang there until you remove 
the box from the firewall.

There are only 3 nuts in the engine compartment to undo to release the 
heater box.  There are two screws to undo for the fan.

Remove the heater cable at the water valve and the electrical connector 
at the heater box above the water valve.  (You will be squished onto the 
drivers side floor for that).

The box will roll slightly and will be removed sideways out over the 
passenger side of the hump.

It may sound tedious but really only takes about 10 minutes to remove.
