If my memory serves me right, the max wedge was for the race teams. I had a 426 street wedge with a 4 barrel and don't remember ever seeing the max wedge set up on a street car. The earlier 413's had a spaghetti cross ram. If you lived in Indianapolis you probably could have gotten one from Eldon Palmer as he was the largest Dodge dealer in the mid west. He supposedly spent more time at the Parts Depot behind the electrical plant than at his dealership. The factory rep and he were good friends. My brother worked at the electrical plant and 2 good friends worked at the parts depot and in hind sight I could have had a max wedge set up through them for the cost of a 318 intake manifold. Could have also had a complete 426 Hemi for the cost of a 318 bare block, but I was either too dumb or too scared to do it. (Probably both.) But here my brother and I are still around and our friends ended up early casualties to reckless living.
