I recently tried some cheap oven cleaner on '64 Plymouth headlight bezels with mixed results. Some of the anodizing came off, some didn't. Tried repeated applications, soaking, brushing, etc. and finally just put everything in a box to try again another time. I'm guessing the cleaner I used just didn't have the strength needed. I heard you can use lye, but that's hard to get. Easy off oven cleaner used to contain kye, but no more. Anybody have any other ways of doing it besides sanding?
