Re: Disc Brakes & Front Ends

One plus of using real Mopar disk brake stuff is the inner wheel bearing area of the disk brake spindle is much larger. You also get a bigger inner brg. Also with the proper caliper mount and rotor you can use your 14 inch Ansen Sprints. Ron ----- Original Message ----- From: "MO ( Steve Mick)" <micher@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

My .$.02 other side of the coin. My front brakes may need drums, shoes , and all small parts. That is gonna cost -if I can find them. And then they will still be small brakes. I have already rebuilt my front suspension. and the bracket (caliper) I am looking at will bolt onto my nicely blasted and painted spindle. No chance of steering geometry problems. And MUCH less work than installing a congromulation of parts . I don't have any desire to have rack and pinion steering. I'm not one to do everything that everyone else does- But I sure do want to have good binders at the end of the 1/8 mile at 100+ MPH...............................MO ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ollie" <satellite1965@xxxxxxxxxxx>

My $.02 on the whole subject.........
If I was going to all the work of disc brakes, this means.....
You already have alot of money invested in ball joints, torsion bars, ie the front end....
Or if not... you will have...
My thoughts after having been there, done that...
Trash the whole front clip and put in a coil spring, rack and pion steering, disc, etc. set-up
Now u got a modern vehicle. All problems solved in one wack.
