MO, I'm with Christopher - I hosed the rusted areas (floor and bottom of rocker panel) down with Extend (a spray-on rust converter) and put a thin layer of resin just to firm things up. It won't get any worse and looks okay for now. Worked well on small (6-8" square) areas. The surrounding metal is probably rather thin, but not bad enough to weld in patches. In the past, I have coated these areas with fiberglass woven cloth and resin. But since fiberglass and metal expands and contracts at different rates, the patches sometimes loosen up.. Anyone have a different way to seal up these holes and strengthen the thin areas without welding?
