I have some questions about this thread. I am currently in the process of polishing all the trim on my car before re-installing it. On my 63 the "engine turned trim" is stainless, not aluminum as has been indicated somewhere along this thread. So being stainless I'm assuming that it is not anodized. To clean mine up I just laid it out on a flat surface and used a "cleaner/degreaser" and some terry cloth to get the gunk off and finished by going over it w/ a microfiber cloth. On the back side it had some transferred rust from sitting against the sheetmetal and I used steel wool to remove that. I've been using a 2 step process on a cotton buffing wheel on the rest of the stainless and while it doesn't get it to show quality it definitely makes it much shinier. What should I do to maintain this? Just a little paste wax? Paul L.
