Staples

I'm getting ready to replace the boards on a couple of my door panels.  
They are attached to the metal top piece with staples, the same kind 
used to fasten the cat whiskers.  The staples are available from 
Restoration Specialties but I don't see a tool available anywhere to set 
them.  Do I have to do this manually?  And if so can I benefit from 
somebodies previous experience with this?  TIA
