Re: dash mounted rearview mirror

it looks like there's a slot for a fat bladed screwdriver up in there,
maybe you can loosen the mirrors pedestal from there? or maybe thats what
puts pressure on the nut?

All the Cresent wenches I've looked at are way to bulky (even with the

I did order a 1-3/8 inch socket from Sears, but I didn't pay attention
it's 12 point, instead if 6 point..

I sprayed the nut with BP Blaster hoping it would soften up enough to
turn by hand, but no luck (maybe I'm just a weeny ;)

How about a long-handled crescent wench? Or an extra deep offset

Another option is to remove the radio so you have a better access. Last
resort.

You're good with pictures. Can you send a pic of the area? I was
thinking they might have a tool like you use on doors to use for the mirror. I think maybe you could make one from some 1/8" steel? It'd be an interesting challenge. Also if you have that socket maybe you could cut a thin piece from the socket and have it welded to a thin piece of steel. Let's see what it looks like. I always like to make custom tools
