Axle bearings- ring - pinion- 8 3/4

I finally obtained a 742 sure grip chunck 3:55 ratio. However it has set for 
so long that  part of the ring and pinion is rusted in the teeth.  I have 
looked for a new or used ring and pinion, but for some reason that ratio is 
hard to find-even new. Dumb question for you old hands, but just what are 
"green bearings" and what is the advantage over Timpkin bearings i could get 
from my local parts house?...................MO.........sw   iowa
