I don't think I have a by-pass hose on my 383, I'll go out and check the 318 polly. I don't recall the size of holes I drilled but I go small, when I change antifreez or have it drained to work on it I want to be able to fill it without problems. I drill holes in all thermstats unless they have a good vent.
