I'll agree that a higher stall converter would help, but I don't think that alone is the problem. I put a 3:23 gearset into my 1964 Fury with a 100% stock 318 two-barrel, single exhaust, automatic, etc., and off the line it went like the dickens. I'm assuming it is a factory HP cam? That combo should really move.
