I always heard the orange box was good to 6,000 rpm and the chrome box
goes to 10,000, forget all this and look into a MSD "Ready to Run"
distributor and coil, distributor is self contained, (no box needed) fires
my 12.5 cr
Hemi ever time. Idles and is still pulling at 6,500, my self imposed rev
limit.

Assuming that you have a distributor with mechanical and vacume
advance-wouldn't it be much simpler to covert using Pertronics? I can't
see the reason behind all those different Mopar boxes ( chrome, orange,
etc.).................MO..........sw iowa

Mo,,,,,,,the box replace the points as a way to get the current to the
coil, not sure what is different between the different boxes, am
assuming
that
it is the speed of operation of internal parts so as to allow longer
duration of power to the coil
