Freshman in college and found a 1970 Challenger RT with 383 and Pistol Grip Four Speed. Wanted $2500, but it needed a clutch. I just bought a 69 Sport Fury convertible (mistake since it had too much rust in it). Didnt have the money for both. Should have dumped the Fury and bought the Challenger. Lost a 65 Barracuda S with 273 4 speed. Had been sitting for 10 years in a garge and needed a clutch and engine rebuild, but it ran. $1200....This was in high school and didnt have the coin. The worst was my a non mopar. My Godparents wanted to give my brothers and me a pristine 67 Lemans hardtop with a 326 and bucket seats with 60K miles on it for FREE! My dad didn't want it since he didnt want us to have a car since my brothers and I were 15 and 16 years old. The insurance in San Francisco would have been too much. (too many rotten drivers). I still wish I had the LeMans since it was sold to a friends daughter who painted it a cheap brown and ruined it. ----- Original Message ---- From: Ron Soldani <ronsold102@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: 1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, July 30, 2009 9:45:05 AM Subject: RE: some thoughts on my past snobberies Yep, My near perfect 64 Sport Fury cost me and my dad $200 big ones and later the 70 Super Bee for $500, 71 Charger 440 RT for $1200. I could go on. Saw a neighbor drive his brand new 69 Z-28 home with American Racing torque thrust mags (Dealer Installed). Ah those were the days. I finally have a Sport Fury again, but this one cost me lots. -----Original Message----- From: Butch Edison [mailto:waedison@xxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Friday, July 10, 2009 10:07 AM To: 1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: some thoughts on my past snobberies Amen! Sold my 64 Sport Fury in 67 when I joined the Marines. Regretted it ever since. /Butch/Ferndale, WA -----Original Message----- From: Rich Kinsley [mailto:rlkinsley@xxxxxxxxx] Sent: Friday, July 10, 2009 6:58 AM To: 1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: some thoughts on my past snobberies My first new car, the '64 Dodge, I had about 6 months and then got drafted.
