i had a 187 pan on my 65 belv conv and it hit the k frame and the steering 
linkage rubbed too.  i just finished making a new pan, cut off the sump from 
the 187 pan and made a new sump from sheet metal. i used the dimensions from 
the web site.  i got the metal for free, about 8 hours to fab and weld.
