The Easiest way IS to have a machine shop do it while you have a cold one
waiting!  But, Yes, you can do it at home with a little elbow grease!  Just
knock the old studs out with a big hammer.  Then using a stack of washers or
a bolt with the inside diameter hole slightly larger than the base of the
stud pull the stud into the axle with the washers sandwiched between the
axle and a backward lug nut.  (The V Facing Out)  You will want to lubricate
the threads & the surface between the lug and washer well doing it this way
but with a lot of elbow grease and time they will pull right into place.  A
trick is to start all the studs till you can't hold the axle from turning
then install the drum set the brake and finish running them down.  Before
you knock the old studs out look at the back side of the axle and see were
the old studs are seated and make sure the new ones are seated the same. 
This process is a lot easier if you have access to an impact wrench Air or
Electric.  The money you save in shop fees you can probably purchase an
electric impact wrench and have it for future projects like removing and
reinstalling your New Wheels!! (-;

I'm looking @ new wheels and tires for the coronet and want to get rif
of the LH studa on the rear of the car. The front have been replaced
already.
