Tell him your seating it and then ask him "Do the intials MYOB bear any
significance to you?"
I have seen literaly hundreds instaled that way both in machine shops and by
amatuers. I have never seen one ever once damage a thrust. . I know it does
seem a bit rough but back in the day 40 years ago there was nothing else. I
usually set the damper in front of a heaterfan for about 1/2 hour and lube
the shaft well. the first pop till it gets to bolt depth is so easy
sometimes you think you could almost push it on. How do you thnk it gets
installed at the factory? Quickly would be # 1 there. Sure an installer
would be nice but ----------- well you know.

I always install the crank dampener with a hammer and a block of wood,
until it is on enough that the threads on the crank bolt can reach, then
finish it with the bolt. My friend says I am damaging the crankshaft
main thrust bearing by doing it this way. Is that true?
