Bellhousing

I am using a bellhouse from a 1965 B body big block-cast iron.  I read that 
those used a 9 1/2 inch flywheel with a 120some tooth ring gear. Since the 
starter bolts to the bellhouse, am I going to have to use a 9 1/2 inch 
flywheel-clutch? is that true or is there a way to put in a bigger flywheel?
