Re: Lugnut problem

Yes member Zack had a similar problem recently here. There was a lot of good advice you could search through the archived messages. If you only have 1 lugnut you can probably drill some holes in the lugnut and then use a nut splitter to destroy the integrity of the nut so you can tear it off. Once it is off you can get remove the rest of the nuts and wheel/tire. Then pull the drum (you'll need that big specialty puller) and remove the drum.

The passenger rear is left hand thread. I can't recall where these are available now. If you are stuck you can replace it with a right hand stud and paint the end of the stud a color so you'll remember to turn the lug wrench correctly on that one. :) NAPA and such sell right hand.

Thanks,
Gary H.

I remember some horror stories recently about using a fire wrench and driving in figure 8's to get something off, and wanted to see if this stud and frozen nut are like that. Can I just remove the rear drum, wheel and all, and somehow knock out the old stud with the frozen nut and replace with a new one? If so, where would I find a new lugnut stud for that? Thanks for any help.
