sheetmetal

hi, re-asking question. am buying some sheetmetal on tuesday to begin practicing mig welding on. want same gauge as body panels on a 63 dodge as i intend to repair rust holes myself. am guessing its 18gauge but not sure. anyone know for sure, and are all panels same gauge or are floorpans etc thicker [16g]? will be reworking & replacing most of my exhaust as well. doing that first. interesting times ahead methinks. thanks for any help. rich oz p.s. on the fate of chrysler, mitsubushi, which until 1981 was chrysler here in oz, closed for good earlier this year. a couple of thousand out of work, & the end of an era. the local gmh plant which builds holdens have cut back on hours & making people take holidays due to poor sales. similar probs for both companies as nth american companies. wrong product line for the times. both mitsi & holden had good quality products but too big when people want small to medium. also cant compete with asian wages, etc. sad but thats the world we live in, cheers
