Hi Colin.
Not a fun thing to do. Hopefully it is in an accessible spot. I've had the 
best luck with drilling it out with left handed drill bits and an angle 
headed drill. Make sure they're sharp. The heat generated by drilling the 
stud will usually be enough to walk it out but if not, after drilling a hole 
through the broken stud I heat the area around it and then use a 
conventional easy out. Good luck.
