Re: broken exhaust stud

If the stud is frozen - as I am assuming it is if you snapped it off - it 
won't be terribly easy.  hopefully it's one close to the front end of the 
engine for your back's sake.  I know two ways to get it out -

First, spray what's left with Kroil or Gibbs or PB Blaster or other 
penentrant as often and as long as you can stand to do it.  Maybe zap the 
torch in there once in awhile to cycle heat  / cool and help break up the 
rusted bond.  Then -

1) Careful drilling + EZ-Out extractor (hardware store type tool).

or

2) Drill-Out reverse-spinning drills.  They are expensive but they work. 
Snap-On sells these, grab your ankles.

You might need a right angle drill to get in there.
