${top_text_ad} Holy cow! I would have loved to have just a couple of the cars you had! I don't know which is worse. Selling a car you wish you didn't, or not buying one you let get away. I am still smarting over a 1970 Challenger RT i left get away for $2500 in 1983. 1964 Dodge Polara 500 Convertible 383 ----- Original Message ---- From: Doug Jacobsma <big_jake57@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: 1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, September 16, 2008 7:40:07 PM Subject: RE: selling cars This is a painful subject to me. But a chance to complain or brag or both. The list is too long of what I had, and even what I shoulda kept is too long. Lets just say I was the "Neil" of my time. (mid 70's though mid 90's.) some of the highlights. My first car, a '63 Fury 2dr Hdtp, which ended up an ISCA Consertive Custom multiple show winner, along with too many local shows to count. That car started out a poly, went to a warmed up LA, then got a 426 Stage 3 I bought at a going out of buisiness sale (one of 2 that sold that day),(I killed a very rebuildable '64 4dr Fury for the big block parts I needed for the swap, but back then who knew??) I traded that engine for half payment for a (take a deep breath here) Superbird 440 6 bbl 4 speed in Petty Blue. If you watched this years Daytona 500 it was on the track a couple times while the camera was rolling before the race. Anyway, the '63 got a 440 dual 4 bbl set up after that. Had it till about '94 when I sold it like an idiot to do some building on my acerage. The Superbird went a bit b/4 the '63. Those 2 probably hurt the most, but along with those, these come to mind, '62 original Max Wedge Plymouth, '69 Road Runner Hemi 4 gear, '63 Sport Fury Hdtp, '69 GTX 440 4 spd, 69 Runner 383 (you've never seen a straighter Street Chicken) '68 Charger R/T, 71 GTX Hemi, '70 Cuda AAR 4spd, '56 Imperial Southhampton 4 dr hdtp Hemi with every option imaginable, soooo cool. I'm starting to think I shoulda kept all the cars I ever had!! Sorry for the long post, see what happens when ya get an old feller reminising? You should see the list of the ones I shoulda bought but didnt. Think I'll go out to the garage and make a pact with the '63. She's been with me for 30 years now, might as well make it another 30 !
