my new 64 barracuda has some fancy aftermarket aluminum radiator in it that has no trans cooler inside it. so theres large (10x12)aftermarket trans cooler mounted on front of the radiator, which i dont really like , because i figure its cutting down air for the radiator. I would like to experiment with another location. some thoughts and questions:. the current trans cooler has an area of 120 square inches , i have a smaller trans cooler with a surface area of 55 inches. This smaller cooler i could mount right behind the grill , so it actually wouldn't be on the radiator. I like that idea but I am wondering if 55 square inches is a larger enough cooler. The trans has a shift kit but no high stall converter. another question is: does mounting the trans cooler a few inches ahead of the radiator, as i mentioned by mounting it behind the grille,r , help the radiator cool better or is that just in my imagination. thanks , hope this makes sense neal zimmerman, eugene oregon
