I've been using these voltage regulators for years and they work great. It gets rid of the flickering headlights. The ones I used to get from JC Whitney had a cover on them that looked just like the original factory regulator however JCW no longer carries them. I just put one on my 64 Belvedere from AutoZone and it does have the flatter cover. My understanding is these electronic regulators were actually developed for marine use. Don't want no sparks in a bilge full of fumes.
