The 3 prong switch will work in place of the 1 prong switch!  That said, it
is not with out modification.  The 1 prong switch is just to ground the
starter relay to work at the correct time. The 3 prong does the same thing
and works the backup lights in addition.  If CRS (cant remember $h!t) has
not kicked in the center pin is ground and the two out side pins compleat
the backup light circuit at the correct time.  When you purchase the more
common 3 prong switch get the corresponding plug at the same time from your
friendly auto parts person.  Cut the old end off the cars wire harness and
test the three wires to confirm the correct one and permanently connect the
plug using your preferred method.  Mine is solder & heat shrink tubing! 
Then tape the other two wires around the new connection further water
proofing the connection.

You should be using the NSS with the single prong.  Your B/U light
Switch (if equipped with B/U lights) is on the shifter.  I've heard that
The 3 prong switch should work and have also heard it won't.
