Don's correct on the if it jumped it wouldn't run at all, I had a 318 in a
70's van (long hair and all) that jumped twice before I could get it fixed, we
just cranked more distributor in it, crossed our fingers and lit it off, way
down on power but saved the tow charge.

We often brought cars with jumped timing chains to the shop by advancing the
timing. That was before you had to worry about bending a valve. Big
amaercan V8s. Saveda tow call and we were ucky. One tooth is about 12 degress i
think. I used to knw because i measured it once. Aftermarket dampner? I ALWAYS
SUSPECT trouble with aftermarket parts. Why do you not remark it. it takes
only a few minutes to doso. then you know for sure
