There are two distinct possibilties , Wrong timing cover (or chrome timing cover. Chrome by the way means "very poorly made with no regards to quality or perfomance but exceptionaly pretty,") The other possibilty (and I see this often) is some timng lights do not deal well with exotic ignitions as there is too much energy flowing around (Inductive and capcitive) for a single wire to trigger. Solution? Mark timing damper 2.21 inches north of TDC line and set it now with a non adjustable timing light. Works quite well. The advice though to check the timng mark and remark if necessary as simplistic and unlikley as it sounds is bang on. ABSOLUTLEY the very first thing to do regardless.
