I am way out on a limb here but despite being a professional mechanic and doing all sorts of wierd and wonderful things in my life i always felt and still do that rear gears are a crap shoot. Sometimes when you do everything right they are still bummers. I took a set out of my 63 that altrhough used when i got them looked good. I have worked on them several times to get them quieter. All i succeeded in was getting them less noisy. I decided my dragster neeeded them more than the 63 and just installed a set of 355s . I did them sort of freehand and I must have done something right. totally qiet! Randys by the way is one of those companies who wont ship to Canada so you know there is some kind of a head problem there. All you do is give UPS the address and say whats in the box . Other than that it is no different than shipping down the street. if you have them out do a pattern test with graphite spray or blueing or what ever. (Secretly i use paint but dont tell anyone!). Load the gear with a bar while you turn it through its painted or blue spot. Run it through both ways. Pattern should be totally on the gear not on the edge. After that. get your pen out and right a poison pen lettter if you find it isnt right. Unacceptable is a good word. Use no unstone like words. Be definate.A letter ,unlike a phone call wont go away.
