hi brian,i found a low profile 7/16ths socket that just about makes it. (here comes the scary part)............. I take a "just small enough" large screwdriver and wrap a rag (as not to scratch) and ease it down along side the bolt channel of the bolt im removing and it gives me just that little extra space to feed the socket in and out again.

I just looked at the '62-'65 site and saw a '64 MW car owned by John Vazquez. I noticed that he uses long T - handle type fasteners tosecure the valve covers on his engine. Does anyone else use these? The reason I'm asking is because I can't remove the top valve cover bolts onmy engine unless I remove the intake manifold first. There just isn'troom to get a socket between the valve cover and the intake manifold on my engine. Even the diameter of my 1/4" socket set is too big. The T- handle method seems like a better way, but unfortunately, it reminds me of small block Chevy engine, whenever I see those type of fasteners...Brian '64 Belvedere Davenport, Iowa
