Clear coat paint oddity

A year ago or so I mentioned how I had bought a couple cans of 
Dupli-color 500deg Ceramic clear coat. They had stirring balls in them, 
rattled properly and worked great. Then I got a couple more cans and 
they did not have the stirring balls and were very splotchy and uneven. 
I checked and every new can was without the balls. Now I bought another 
can of the same stuff and it worked OK but none of the clear coats, even 
other types, had the stirring balls. I guess they don't think it needs 
it anymore for the clear. At least this time it did work OK.
