There was an article in the national Walter P. Chrysler Club's magazine many years ago that concluded that yes, the emblem was a marketing ploy and only on the curb side so people walking on the sidewalk past the cars would see the Pentastar emblem. Corporate wide the Pentastar provided a brand image also.

Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person.
