I can't imagine that tranny filters are that hard to find. $49 seems 
outrageous. It only cost me around $400 to have the whole 727 trans 
rebuilt and a shift kit installed. I do believe our vintage 727's had 
front and rear pumps so they also had front and rear pick-ups which is a 
bit different than the later ones.
