Read this today in the morning paper. Royal Oak Police Chief has instructed all patrol officers to ticket all Cruiser's between now and Saturday that have Antique or Year (1962,63,64..etc) license plates. Apparently there is a little known provision to those plates that says our cars can only be driven to Club meetings or Parades. I know many of you are coming from the Mopar Nationals this year, so if you get pulled over tell the officer you are just coming from or going to a Club meeting. As a resident of Royal Oak I would like to apologize for our nit picking Police Chief. He has a history of over enforcement during the Cruise and really puts our officers in a bad light. We have a wonderful city that for the most part loves the Cruise and the Cruiser's. Just be careful .If you would like to voice your opinion about this matter please call the Chiefs office at 248-246-3525 or the Mayor's office at 248-246-3200.
