Hood scoop revision

I took a close look at the way my scoop is attached
today.Between 1 1/2 and 2 1/2" inches behind the front
lip my body man siliconed what looks like a cone
shaped rubber bumper to the scoop. It has a stud in
the middle and the stud goes through the bottom of the
hood. It gives the scoop a very clean look w/o a stud
sticking through.
