RE: More scoop stuff

I haven't done this particular job but it sounds to me like you have the 
right idea.  I'd use some epoxy or fiberglas resin to bond something to 
the bottom side of the scoop as you indicate.  This piece would then 
take the wear instead of the scoop itself.  I think I'd also use 
something between the post and the hood as well.
